Policies & FAQ
Studio Policy
- Please bring only what is necessary for your practice. You will find less is more. We do provide shelves in the studio for safe storage of your belongings.
- Please turn off your cell phone before and during class. All cell phone conversations should take place outside of the studio, quietly, in the reception area, or outside, out of respect for others.
- If you are not feeling well or have a cold, please do not attend class. Stay home and rest.
- Young students: Please speak with the instructor, or phone the studio before bringing your child to class. They are welcome and adored in our space, but we must ensure they are comfortable and safe during class. Our classes are designed for students 16 years of age and older. The yoga practice of a child is different from that of an adult. If you would like to bring your child to class, please place your mat next to your child’s at the back of the room, so you may leave quietly if needed. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to watch over their child, to ensure they do not injure themselves or disturb class. If you need to leave to answer your phone or use the bathroom, please take your child with you.
Class Etiquette
- Classes begin on time. Please arrive 15 minutes early, especially if you are new to the studio.
- Please avoid strong perfumes, colognes, or lotions.
- It is strongly recommended not to practice on a full stomach.
- Wear comfortable, clean clothing.
- Yoga is not a competitive sport. Please rest and modify poses whenever needed, or accept the modifications of the instructor.
- If you are late, please wait for the teacher to acknowledge you and find the best place for you. If the teacher is occupied, please come in quietly, and set yourself up near the rear of the class.
- Please be considerate of your neighbors’ space when you set up your mat, and as you practice.
- Silence during class is always appreciated.
- Listen to your body, and take care of yourself during class. If your knee, shoulder, back, or any part of the body is uncomfortable or in pain, slowly come out of the pose and rest.

When it comes to food and digestion, each individual is different, and needs to find out what works for them. In general, it is not recommended to eat 2-3 hours before class; especially a large meal, as this can create an uncomfortable situation: acid reflux, nausea, indigestion, in some extreme cases, vomiting. If you must eat before class, try to have a piece of fruit, as this food is easily, and quickly digestible.
